In 2017 our country was welcoming visitors from all continents as the host of the international exhibition EXPO-2017 with the main theme “future energy”. ‘ -Mrs. Matveyeva’s class blog.

Festivals And Holidays:

I personally love all holidays, most of them require a day off of school! Easter is coming up, so we get a few days off. My brother gets all of next week and this week off!! Our family comes to our house, because we have the biggest and most convenient house of all of our family on my mom’s side. My dad’s side of my family also comes over, but mainly for dinner parties. We mostly all come for Christmas and Easter, both sides.

How are your holidays?

Week 6 Student Blogging

I do play an instrument. It’s the piano. Not really serious, though. More for fun. I am going to maybe become more serious in the future, but I can play decently large noted songs. I might play the guitar, but I am not very sure yet. Hopefully I can learn bigger songs on piano!

Student Blogging Challenge Week 5 [Describing School Grounds]

The school I go to isn’t very large in the amount of students, but the school grounds are well-sized for us. We have one area that’s one of those basin-like places. We use that if there are events going on in the church on the other side, or other reasons. Then, we have a large parking lot with basketball nets and we bring out carts to play football and soccer and other things. We use just the parking lot if the ground is too wet and snowy on the regular playground. Then, we have a playground with a few playsets like monkey bars, those giant combined playsets with slides and climbing things. Then, we have swings, benches, and more. There’s also a smaller playground on the other side for the preschoolers. There’s also, like mentioned before, a Church, Rectory, and some more buildings. In the inside of our school, there’s a Media Center with a stream room for 3D printing and other electronics. There are classrooms from PRE-K to 8th grade. We have a very nice gym with 1 large basketball court and some smaller nets on the side, bleachers, two storage rooms, and there is two holes in the center to put in volleyball nets. There are upstairs rooms for more offices and other classes. We have a music/art room in the upstairs, but in a different area. Then there are other industrial rooms that keep the school running. Like, generators, pipes, and mail rooms. So, yeah, that’s our school grounds and classrooms. Leave a comment of what your school grounds are like!

Free Choice- “Turning Point” Battle of Midway (Historical Fiction)

It is June 4th, 1942 and the United States Navy prepared to have a massive naval battle. Petty Officer 1st Class Peter Wilson was in command of an outdated World War 1 Destroyer. His ship’s engines started to cough on the way to Midway island. He went down to the engine room to see the problem. He saw two injured crew members and an engine that was on fire. He immediately ordered his men to put out the fire and told his men to repair the engines and surrounding equipment. When he returned to the command deck, he saw a machine gun mow down his command crew. There was only two remaining people on deck besides Wilson and his guards. He crawled up to the deck and ordered the guns to fire at will. Now the ship was immobile and was being shot at by a Japanese destroyer. Just as he went out to the outside decks, he saw the armed guards run past him and some jumped into a lifeboat and some went into a landing ship that was in the back, they all headed towards the destroyer. “They are going to board the ship!” Wilson thought. Within seconds, the lifeboat exploded by a shell. There were some armed guards still on the ship shooting at the destroyer with their rifles. One soldier had a Springfield sniper and managed to hit a crewman. The ship was taking so many hits, that it eventually gone down. The enemy ship received so many hits, that the ship sunk too. The landing craft was in the water for so long, that the soldiers were about to die of injuries and lack of supplies, but an American patrol cruiser spotted them and brought them home. Wilson was still alive and was taken to Midway Island for immediate medical care. Now, the remaining crew lives to tell the tale.

My, “Amazing” trip to Lake Placid.

Hello, today I will tell everyone about my oh so, “amazing” trip to Lake Placid, New York. Well, driving there was actually fun. We got to eat a lot and the view was phenomenal. Sometimes, I thought the rocks on the mountains would roll down and then fly over our car and dump into the river. Anyway, when we got there, we stopped into a really nice hotel to see where our other family is staying for my Uncle’s wedding. We see a very rough family of 7 or 9 pour into the building and create as much disruption as possible. My dad was inside doing the work while the rest of us waited outside. I thought my dad would never return after the animal house poured in. After about a whole year, he finally got out. I thought this was our hotel, but, we actually stayed on one on the lakeside and if we walked out, we got to go on paddle boats, those surfboard things with paddles, kayaks (my favorite) and so on. There was a pool, too. The water in the lake was, “Freezing” according to my sister. If I can estimate, It was about 67 degrees fahrenheit. I am not exaggerating. I don’t mind cold water, there is a small piece near the dock where you can swim in that is surrounded with buoys. I only got out because I didn’t see the bottom for some parts. My dad said if I swim to one corner and back, he’ll go in. So I did. I kept my eyes keen in case some kraken was below me. Did I mention someone also stole our deck chairs? It’s not a bad hotel, it’s just the supply of deck chairs is about as much food you’ll get in North Korea. After the hotel disaster, we got to a fire pit, ate ice cream, and played bean bag toss. Then we went to the wedding the next day. It was a good wedding that is good for talking about another time. That was piece of my, “amazing” trip to Lake Placid, New York.

100 Word Challenge Week #24

Hello, I am Lieutenant Andrew Brown. I am a Lieutenant of the Green Berets special forces deployed in Vietnam. It is 1967, and my platoon is supposed to destroy critical information on Doung Island. My weapon is the Sten MK V. “Alright boys” I said. “We need to destroy that radio tower and the systems with it.” I sent a squad of ten men to flank the N.V.A if we engage. We moved up to the undefended radio tower and computer systems. I checked the data. It was empty. What a surprise! We decided to destroy and run. The N.V.A was close behind.
